Frogatto is a retro-style platform game with cute characters, a nice story, and elements that will remind you of classic platformers. Using a 16-bit graphic style, it features the adventures of a little frog who is eager to explore the world. Your task is to help this adventurous frog to overcome a series of levels while jumping platforms, fighting enemies, and collecting gold along the way.
Being not much of a hard worker himself, Frogatto decides to go to town with the promise to get a job. During his journey, he will be visiting friends and accepting any job he is offered, like cleaning a basement or fetching a special item for a friend's collection. The path to town will not be as friendly as one can imagine; insects of all kinds and evil creatures will attempt to hurt Frogatto. To defend himself, he can attack them with his tongue by swallowing small insects or objects and using them as projectiles, or he can simply advance keeping away from enemy creatures. Ants, flying plants, and porcupines are part of the enemy cast, which also includes bosses to defeat at the end of each level.
Frogatto's adventures take place at a colorful 2D world comprising more than 30 levels. As in all platformers, our character will have to walk over different terrains, jump into the water to collect extra gold, walk over bridges, take elevators, and jump a lot to advance. Frogatto is controlled with the keyboard, and by using key combinations we can make him perform special abilities like clinging to walls to make a higher jump or jumping pass through wooden bridges. He also has the ability to transport objects in his belly, essential to accomplish some goals, the problem is that while doing so he won't be able to jump or swim.
Beautiful graphics, lots of surprises, plus a very addicting game experience await for you in Frogatto. Those who used to play games like Super Mario or Adventure Island, are sure to enjoy Frogatto a lot, as it is a really nice adventure game with all the ingredients of the classics.
